The brainchild of bass guitarist and Steve's good friend Rich Bastien, the Steve Laszko Benefit Concert was held on March 3rd, 2001 at the Brengle Terrace Park Recreation Center in Vista, CA. Rich, along with the help of fellow musicians and friends, worked their butts off to put on a memorable evening. Entertainment was provided by the bands Sherwill, Hydropland and Hart & Soul. Steve has played with many members of these bands in the past and it was terrific having them there. Family and friends both old and new, including a group from the Craig Hospital in Denver, rocked the night away and helped raise over $1200 for Steve's rehab fund.
The concert was sponsored by San Diego Drums & Percussion, Band Central Station, Redsand Inc., Photomorphix, the City of Vista, J&M's Silk Screen, Pen Art Graphics, and Kinko's of Redlands. A special thanks goes out to our cousin Sheri Guzik for her efforts in putting together the flyers and benefit t-shirts. T-shirts are still available for the modest price of $10 each.
